If Rodriguez is alert to the universality of certain key experiences, this may have something to do with her background. Born in Colombia, she studied art at the University of the Andes in Bogota, holding her first show there in 1987; in 1989 she left for London, where in 1991 she received an MA from the Slade School of Fine Arts.  Both private and corporate collectors in the UK and abroad collect her work.
